Mount Olive’s newest ‘immigrants’

by pbekolo
September 23rd, 2011

Mount Olive A sudden influx of Haitians in Mount Olive has several networks talking to each other to find ways to bring new immigrants into the community. The Rev. Erilus St. Sauveur and Paulette Bekolo are part of a group of clergy who are working to make the Haitians’ transition to North Carolina easier.

God is at work in Haiti.  He is moving the hearts of people all over the world to come to the aid of His children in Haiti.  Solid Rock First Haitian Tabernacle of Grace in Raleigh, North Carolina, under the leadership of pastors Erilus and Mureille St. Sauveur, is joining with other Christians to begin a work that will support the efforts of churches in every part of Haiti.  Erilus and Mureille are using their knowledge and passion for the people of Haiti to guide the development of a sustained missionary effort in that country.

The mission work in Haiti is in the early planning stages at this moment, but the compelling vision is to exercise the great commission by sharing the gospel in a manner that demonstrates the love of God for the people of Haiti in thought, word and deed.  These beautiful people need our help.  They find themselves in circumstances that they cannot possible overcome on their own.  Solid Rock First Haitian Tabernacle of Grace seeks to develop a comprehensive system that will extend a helping hand to Haitians, to assist them in standing on their own and to overcome the barriers that prevent them from living a healthy and productive life.

Without help the future is bleak for the people of Haiti, but the power of faith brings the hope that they can rise above and overcome those circumstances that threaten their very existence: joblessness, illiteracy, inadequate housing, hunger and limited healthcare.  With God’s help we intend to build a network that can build houses, schools, churches, clinics and orphanages.  We want to see children educated, jobs created and new sources of energy introduced.  We want to support the unique needs of local pastors and their congregations, provide well-trained teachers for the schools, make medical care available and provide assistance to orphans and the elderly.

Solid Rock First Haitian Tabernacle of Grace seeks to be an instrument of God that can minister to the needs of the people of Haiti.  Our greatest desire is for the people of Haiti to put their trust in a Living God.  Come and join us in the formative stages of this ministry.
